Hydrogen Abstraction from N-butyl Formate by H-radicals
Interest in the biofuel candidate n-butyl formate has increased due to new synthesis pathways and recently indicated negative temperature coefficient (NTC) behavior. Modeling is so far based on analogy estimates only and underlines the importance of initial hydrogen abstraction reactions. This study presents the (to our knowledge) first ab-initio reaction kinetics for nbutyl formate. Its numero...
متن کاملIsomerism and Hydrogen Bonding in the Cis-enol Forms of 1-(n-pyridyl)butane-1,3-diones: A Theoretical Study
Molecular structure, isomerism, conformational stability and intramolecular hydrogen bonding (IHB) of cis-enol forms of 1-(n-pyridyl)butane-1,3-diones (nPBD) (n = 2, 3, or 4) have been investigated by means of density functional theory (DFT) calculations. Energy differences for all possible nPBD cis-enol forms of isomers with respect to the most stable form of the correspondin...
متن کاملPropane and n-butane oxidation by Pseudomonas putida GPo1.
Propane and n-butane inhibit methyl tertiary butyl ether oxidation by n-alkane-grown Pseudomonas putida GPo1. Here we demonstrate that these gases are oxidized by this strain and support cell growth. Both gases induced alkane hydroxylase activity and appear to be oxidized by the same enzyme system used for the oxidation of n-octane.
متن کاملPhotoinduced Hydrogen Abstraction from Phenols by Aromatic Ketones. A New Mechanism for Hydrogen Abstraction by Carbonyl n,π* and π,π* Triplets
Nanosecond laser flash photolysis studies have been carried out of the kinetics of interand intramolecular phenolic hydrogen abstraction by alkoxyacetophenone, 5-alkoxyindanone, and 4-alkoxybenzophenone triplets in acetonitrile and benzene solution. Information on the geometric requirements for abstraction by carbonyl n,π* and π,π* triplets is derived from the results for a series of ketones wh...
متن کاملHydrogen Abstraction Reaction of Hydroxyl Radical with 1,1-Dibromoethane and 1,2-Dibromoethane Studied by Using Semi-Classical Transition State Theory
The hydrogen abstraction reaction by OH radical from CH2BrCH2Br (R1) and CH₃CHBr2 (R2) is investigated theoretically by semi-classical transition state theory. The stationary points for both reactions are located by using ωB97X-D and KMLYP density functional methods along with cc-pVTZ basis. Single-point energy calculations are performed at the QCISD(T) and CCSD(T) levels of theory with differe...
